How does it work when you book online with Planet Car Rentals?
- Use the “Book Now” button after selecting your preferred vehicle
- Choose any additional optional equipment or insurance excess reductions you may require. Please note that vehicle rental transactions are normally made up as follows;
- Daily Charge The charge for the vehicle per day that you will hire less the deposit you may have paid. The charge also includes GST (Goods and Service Tax at 12.5%) and basic insurance cover.
- Bond You will be asked to sign a separate security BOND in the form of a credit card imprint. The bond is held by the vehicle provider generally NOT BANKED. This is the service providers guarantee that you will return their vehicle on time and in the condition that it was hired. The bond amount is usually based on the vehicle insurance excess.
- CDW An optional collision damage waiver (CDW) charge is the way a hirer can reduce the insurance excess. This is charged daily and is at a rate applicable to the type of vehicle you hire.
- Having made the choice on the optional extras and possibly having selected an insurance excess reduction option you can now click through to the screen which displays your booking details and requires your email and contact information.
- The next screen requires your credit card details for the booking Deposit. Please note that booking with Planet Car Rentals requires a Non refundable 15% deposit. This charge is not made to your credit card until the service provider confirms the booking of your vehicle. (No confirmation of booking no charge to you) This deposit will be deducted off your total rental cost by the service provider. Because of the work involved in administering your booking please be aware that should you cancel your booking with the service provider concerned the deposit to us is Non refundable.
- Finally as you click through to the last screen and confirm your booking you will be advised that the request has been sent to your selected service provider. This Company will then contact you directly (usually via email) in relation to the booking you have made. You will get a booking confirmation email from them outlining their procedures for “Meet and Greet”. This confirmation will have their contact details on it eg. Telephone, email and a Booking reference number. When communicating with them please ensure you quote this number.
- Finally please read the information they provide you and ensure that they have your flight or accommodation details correct, this will ensure that you are not inconvenienced in any way.
